Voici une br\u00e8ve explication.  <\/p><p><br>Comme vous l&#8217;avez peut-\u00eatre lu sur une autre de nos pages, le nettoyage laser provoque une forte \u00e9l\u00e9vation de la temp\u00e9rature de la couche contamin\u00e9e (rouille, peinture, salet\u00e9, etc.), entra\u00eenant sa vaporisation. Un faisceau laser se comporte g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement comme un faisceau lumineux classique. Ainsi, les surfaces r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissantes ou blanches chauffent moins facilement que les surfaces sombres. Elles r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissent la majeure partie de la lumi\u00e8re, tandis qu&#8217;une surface sombre absorbe l&#8217;\u00e9nergie du faisceau et la r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit moins. C&#8217;est cette absorption d&#8217;\u00e9nergie qui provoque l&#8217;\u00e9chauffement.     <\/p><p><br>Heureusement, la plupart des couches contaminantes sont de couleur sombre et non r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissantes. Pensez \u00e0 la rouille, aux anciens rev\u00eatements, \u00e0 la vieille peinture, etc. Elles absorbent l&#8217;\u00e9nergie du faisceau laser, chauffent consid\u00e9rablement, puis s&#8217;\u00e9vaporent. C&#8217;est pourquoi une couche r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissante ou blanche est difficile \u00e0 \u00e9liminer par nettoyage laser.   <\/p><p><br>Pour l&#8217;instant, la nature du mat\u00e9riau sous la contamination importe peu. Apr\u00e8s tout, le faisceau laser ne l&#8217;a pas encore p\u00e9n\u00e9tr\u00e9e. Mais une fois la couche \u00e0 \u00e9liminer enlev\u00e9e, comment le faisceau laser peut-il savoir qu&#8217;il ne doit pas endommager la partie sous-jacente ? \u00c9videmment, il ne le sait pas.    <\/p><p><br>Deux ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes permettent de pr\u00e9server l&#8217;int\u00e9grit\u00e9 de la pi\u00e8ce. Premi\u00e8rement, le faisceau laser est sans effet sur une surface qui le r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit. En cas de r\u00e9flexion, il n&#8217;y a pas d&#8217;\u00e9chauffement. C&#8217;est pourquoi les pi\u00e8ces m\u00e9talliques sont particuli\u00e8rement adapt\u00e9es : le m\u00e9tal nu est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement tr\u00e8s r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissant et ne chauffe donc pas. Deuxi\u00e8mement, la plupart des pi\u00e8ces ont une temp\u00e9rature de vaporisation (ou temp\u00e9rature d&#8217;ablation) sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle de la couche contamin\u00e9e. Autrement dit, elles ne commencent \u00e0 s&#8217;\u00e9vaporer qu&#8217;\u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature beaucoup plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e. Ainsi, si le faisceau laser atteint la contamination, il sera partiellement r\u00e9fl\u00e9chi par la couche sous-jacente, et tout \u00e9chauffement, m\u00eame minime, de la pi\u00e8ce n&#8217;entra\u00eenera aucune perte de mati\u00e8re.      <\/p><p><br>Compte tenu de ce qui pr\u00e9c\u00e8de, nous pouvons maintenant d\u00e9terminer quels mat\u00e9riaux conviennent au nettoyage laser. En r\u00e9sum\u00e9 : tout mat\u00e9riau pas trop fonc\u00e9 et capable de r\u00e9sister \u00e0 la chaleur.
